In his complaint, he claims that he had sent an email to the actor in September last year regarding his book's storyline, parts of which the actor used in a tweet, and announcing the movie without taking permission from Mr Kaul. The movie named “Manikarnika Returns” based on the life of Rani Didda of Kashmir was announced by the actor in January. The complainant, Ashish Kaul, is the author and holds exclusive copyright of the book “Didda: The Warrior Queen of Kashmir”, which has also been translated in Hindi under the title of “Kashmir Ki Yodhha Rani Didda”. The author has termed his complaint as his first step in the journey against white-collar crime.
