Requirements

• Descriptions, claims, abstract of the invention and formal drawings (if the descriptions contains the drawings) to be translated into Japanese language

• Certified copies of Priority Documents  – within 16 months from priority [for Paris Convention]

• Full name, address and nationality of Applicant and Inventors

Time Limits

• 12 months from priority for Conventional Patent Application

• 30 months from earliest priority for PCT National Phase Application

Renewal

Renewable thereafter for successive period of 5/10 years. Renewal fees must be paid before the expiry date but not more than 6 months prior the expiry. Late renewals are available normally up to 6 months after expiry date with payment of late fees.
