T-series has signed a multi-licensing agreement with video apps Moj and ShareChat
Recently, Mohalla Tech Private Limited has declared a multi-year and multi-nation agreement with music label T-Series on 4th August 2021.[1] The partnership aims to allow Moj and ShareChat to get access to a vast catalog of Indian music. This agreement also aims to boost the experience of its creator communities. ShareChat and Moj are the initial and primary Indian social media and short video platforms which entered into a multi-year and multi-nation music licensing deal agreement with T-Series.
Mohalla Tech Private Limited is a private limited company located in Bangalore, Karnataka and incorporated on 08, January, 2015.[2] It owns short-video app Moj and Indic language social media platform ShareChat.[3]
After ban of the Chinese application, TikTok, the Moj application was setup. It is similar to TikTok and was launched in India on 29, June 2020.[4] This application is used for making short videos where the user can sing, dance, speak and chat. The user can also perform lip-sync as well as can use stickers, emoticons, and other animation effects.
ShareChat is one of the top-ranking video status applications which is used to see different audios, videos and messages. People can download video status from this application and share them on whatsapp or other online social media platforms. People can create their accounts in ShareChat and upload images, jokes, songs, videos, and audio. ShareChat was incorporated in 15th January 2015 by three IIT graduates and is under the holding of Mohalla Tech Private Limited.[5]
Moj and ShareChat collectively have a 340 million-strong regular active user community and over 82 million creator communities depicting a considerable portion of the cyberspace population in India.[6]
The collaboration of Moj and ShareChat with T-series will help them to explore a variety of sound recordings from the music library of the T-series. It would enhance the pleasure of users of these social media applications. New creative formats would originate in the upcoming future due to the licensing of Moj and ShareChat by T-series. This will help the parent company behind Moj and ShareChat to earn more financial gains.
The multi-licensing agreement between T-Series and Mohalla Tech Private Limited for social media applications like Moj and ShareChat will help in strengthening the businesses of both companies. It would also add value to the businesses of both companies by encouraging more artists and providing the users of Moj and ShareChat an incredible experience all over India. It will also be beneficial to the users of these applications as it would offer more choices to them for making and accessing different types of videos, pictures, messages, etc.
