The order also directed City News Network to remove all videos and content posted on their websites and Youtube channels and delete all other links on their social media pages that bear the CNN mark.

In April 2021, CNN came across the alleged infringing activity of City News Network while conducting the routine internet search of mark CNN. According to a preliminary investigation, the accused operated news agencies, websites, social media pages and YouTube channels under the CNN mark. In 1995, CNN became the first private broadcaster to be allowed on an Indian satellite. Its trademark is registered since 1999. By Vijay Chauhan
