T-series agrees to join IPRS to boost revenues

In a landmark deal, T Series has decided to join Indian Performing Rights Society (IPRS), creating a watershed moment for the Indian music industry. IPRS is India's royalty collection society for songwriters and music publishers. T-Series remains the largest record label in the country with whopping revenue of more than $100 million and about 70-80 % market share. This deal will help IPRS achieve its goal of easing the process of doing business in the music industry and give music publishing the spotlight that it needs to accurately acknowledge all stakeholders in the creation of

a song. T Series being a huge organization had an internal system of collecting royalties in place already but it realized eventually that IPRS has a great framework for royalty collection and distribution and therefore it is only advantageous to join the institution.
