College student secures design registration for biodegradable face shield

When the whole world is under the tight grip of Covid-19, P. Mohan Aditya, a student of SRM University of Andhra Pradesh secures successful design registration for the design of a bio-degradable face-shield for humans on 16th March, 2021 to combat the pandemic. The face shield serves as an outer defense to the mucous membranes i.e., eyes, mouth and nose and is made up of reusable plastic and cardboard which are easily degradable. The same contains elastic head band which can be further adjusted and is suitable for all head sizes. It can be purchased at a minimal cost of

Rs 15 per piece. Aditya used the CAD software for designing the face-shield and the CNC machine for manufacturing it. Andhra Pradesh State Education Minister, Adimulapu Suresh praised his effort and even circulated the face-shields among frontline workers in the containment areas of the state. Aditya even got appreciation from his university for this huge success. The making of this face-shield gives hope to people that, products can be made without harming the environment as this innovation is an eco-friendly move and will help in decreasing environmental degradation.
